My heart swelled with joy, watching these two, madly in love, hold hands and run through the tall, sun-soaked prairie grass. Often during our shoots, I experience these surreal moments where it just hits me all at once: We are crazy blessed, that this…this is our job! Spending time, sharing stories, and taking portraits of couples who feel the same way toward one another as Jeff & I feel about each other. It’s the best thing ever, I tell you. Cori & Dillon’s love could not be sweeter. They have so much fun together, balance one another perfectly, and were up for anything at their beautiful Minnesota e-session. I cannot even take credit for finding this glorious location. It was all them—a special hiking place with an amazing view that they happened upon while on a motorcycle excursion when they were dating. I love that they have a history in this place! We are over-the-moon excited for their upcoming winter wedding! Cannot even wait. Congrats Cori & Dillon!!

There’s something you should know about me: Crafting keeps me sane.  Creating things with my hands gives me so much joy.  And sharing projects + joy with others, well it’s a no-brainer. It is a dream come true. That’s why my friend Amanda & I love hosting handmade workshops.  They are simple reasons to break away from the daily grind, pick up a new skill, make something pretty, and build community with other girls who love doing the same. Yay! Josh & Shannon are such a stunning, genuine couple and their day was absolutely brimming with class, bubbly energy, and sheer joy.  I seriously loved. every. minute. Perhaps one of my favorite details (if I really have to choose!) was the sweetest antique pop-out locket, with photos of Shannon’s mother, uncle and grandparents attached to a fleur de lis pin, which she carried in her bouquet as her something old. And while Shannon elegantly incorporated this piece of tradition, Josh (& all of his guys) rocked up and down the aisle in some custom New Balance running shoes! Perfectly fitting, because Josh is currently training for the Twin Cities Marathon. I seriously hope he crosses the finish line in these hot pink laces!
It is said that a wedding day encompasses nearly every (positive) human emotion, and theirs was no exception.  Although Shannon was completely beaming, appearing poised and put-together all day, her choir friends (and childhood besties) got the best of her and surprised her with the most heart-meltingly beautiful a capella serenade in perfect harmony. Don’t worry, Shan. You weren’t the only one all choked up. ;)
We adored getting to know these two! Their personalities complement each other perfectly, they are head-over-heels and it shows.
