I am short on words to describe just how special LeAnn & Will’s wedding day was!  From the moment we first met them, and later at their engagement session, they absolutely gushed about their dreams for this day. We knew from the get-go that these two were just as creative and passionate about their wedding plans as they were madly in love and excited to become husband & wife! And then, one Saturday in late September, they did it!! Every last detail about their wedding was completely beautiful and magical. I’ve never seen DIY done SO well!

They poured hours and hours of blood, sweat, tears, and sleepless nights into this day.  For starters, they carved out a piece of prairie on LeAnn’s parents’ property for the ceremony site.  They titled it their “field of dreams” and brought in beautiful salvaged church pews, lovely glass doors, and even refinished the gold/green dresser for its focal point. They also scored a roll of vintage wallpaper at an antique store and paired it with thrifted frames to create the coolest photo booth wall known to man! Oh, and did I mention that LeAnn’s mother designed & handmade not only her fantastic vintage lace gown, but also all of the bridesmaids’ sweaters + skirts!? Clearly creativity runs deep in this gene pool!!  And two nights before their wedding day, LeAnn pulled an (almost) all-nighter to bake TWO DOZEN different pies for their reception. WOW. Just WoW!

So proud of these two for accomplishing their DIY dream-come-true of a wedding day!  We felt tremendously honored to be there among their talented friends & family, and to document all of the amazing love & beauty surrounding them!  Any couple who can work SO hard together, meshing their visions to create such a splendid day surely has what it takes to make it in their marriage journey. (: Congrats you two. Your wedding was a complete hall-of-fame Home Run.

Hello friends! Hoping you enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving. I adore having a chance to pause and reflect on exactly how grateful I am for this life of ours. I sometimes cannot believe how extravagantly blessed we are. It seems so unfair that we live in a wonderful, warm home with plenty of food, clean water, and so much love to go around—when so much of the world does not.
We barely think twice about basic survival, and we thrive. Everyday, we do what we love. We have one of the most rewarding careers in the world—simply capturing love and contributing beauty to people’s lives…

Next up: Christmas. I am so ready for this sweet season of giving. So far I’ve checked just one thing off my holiday to-do list: Ordering Christmas cards! We love Minted, because it’s a giant pool of the best indie designers on earth. We order our personal photo cards from them and always tell our clients to do the same! They have some great Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals going on this weekend, so be sure to take a peek. Their Pine Cones card by Snow & Ivy (below) sparked my brain and inspired this serene little board. If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am obsessed with pastel colors. I love pastels for every season and holiday—and the wintery ones are no exception.
Whether you are making a mad dash to the store, or simply enjoying family time this weekend, I hope you feel refreshed, inspired, & overwhelmed by gratitude.

Jill & Steve timed their engagement session PERFECTLY for gorgeous fall colors! On this crisp fall day, we loved having a chance to get to know them better, spending the afternoon with them and a gaggle of geese at Loring Park in Minneapolis. These two are super thoughtful & creative—they brought along a ton of fun ideas to try and props to use in their session. I love that Jill spray painted L-O-V-E letters just for the shoot! We are SO thrilled that you two have found each other and cannot wait to see the creativity and style you have in store for us to photograph on 5.18.13!!
